LUXAIR® is fitted with one of two high performance light options based on the model selected, a flexible LED tape or a rigid LED board from our partner ES-Systems.
All light sources have been approved by LUXAIR® Lighting Engineers and external consultants to ensure that only the highest quality hardware is used.
Every light source is available in a range of colour temperatures from 2,700k to give a warm and relaxing environment for restaurants and sitting rooms, 4000k for a realistic daylight environment such as an office or retail setting and finally to 6,000k for a clinical or energising setting such as a gymnasium, kitchen or washroom.
LUXAIR® can be fitted with light sources capable of producing up to 17,500 lumens/meter at an efficiency greater than 100 lumens per watt (lm/W) – an industry standard, a Colour Rendering Index (CRI) greater than 90 and can comply with Unified Glare Rating (UGR) 19 thanks to its optional micro prismatic diffuser, all of which make LUXAIR® ideal for both commercial and residential settings.
The light diffuser is the only plastic component used in the entire assembly, so it was important to select a material of equal quality and one that performed well not only as a light diffuser but was also chemically stable and fire resistant.
It was for this reason that we opted for a high-quality polycarbonate that is flame retardant to UL94-V0 and meets the stringent lighting design and safety requirements of the bus, rail and aircraft industries.
Polycarbonate is 100% recyclable, it is made from a natural resource (oil) and provides an excellent yield for plastic recycling facilities.
The typical process for recycling polycarbonate is to sort, shred, wash, granulate and then compound the material ready for re-use.
LUXAIR® products have been Photometrically evaluated to qualify lighting performance, understand the effect of the diffuser and to calculate power consumptions and efficiencies.
Lighting Design Files (.LDT) have been produced from the test results which can be imported to DIAlux software to simulate the light intensity, the light distribution curve and the size/shape of the luminaire, making it easy to generate an accurate lighting design for your project.

Ambient lighting provides overall uniform lighting. Task is direct, intense illumination is ideal for detailed task work, such as reading and writing at a desk.
Accent lighting is Intended to highlight a specific object or area. Accent lighting draws attention to a feature, such as artwork, furnishings, or architectural details, converting them into focal points.
